6MM HEAVY ALUMINUM
Something very magical happens with thick metal shells. In the case of Aluminum, what you get is a drum that’s naturally very dry, very loud and very articulate. I would describe 6mm Aluminum overtones as neutral sounding with a short-medium length tail. Definitely the DRIEST drum I make, but in a very pleasing way. Tight low end, slightly scooped mids with an open and airy sounding top end. Video below is with a Single Ply Ambassador wide open and its nice and controlled.
